Clement Postmus has been appointed CEO of The Edge Initiative, starting July 1st, 2017

The Edge Initiative was founded in 2011 and facilitates its clients by providing access to the AppNexus ecosystem, and by providing various support services and products. The company has recently been acquired by Candid Group. Postmus has many years of experience with AppNexus on the sell side, and has the network to present the benefits of this system to the buy side.” said Gérard Ghazarian, CEO of Candid Group.

We are very proud that Clement wants to join our new subsidiary The Edge Initiative. With the appointment of Postmus, the company has been able to sign not just an experienced leader, but also someone who can help us and our clients implement his multi-channel vision.” according to Ghazarian.

What appeals to me particularly is the ambition of Candid Group to bring independent media parties together and provide economies of scale that are comparable to the major international media groups. The Edge Initiative represents a linking pin in the realization of that ambition. Our current and future clients will not only benefit from cost savings, but also from the technical know-how in the field of big data and data science.” Postmus says. “Furthermore, we want to continue educating publishers that using different ad serving systems for video, and desktop, and apps makes the programmatic selling process unnecessarily complicated and, moreover, unnecessarily expensive .”I’ve announced my personal ambition in the trade press several years ago, which is to discover if an independent SSP can be organised, composed of a number of important players in this field. Independence, and a well thought out GDPR policy have been important conditions enabling this step.”, Postmus concludes.

Until December 2016, Clement Postmus was the CEO of ORN (Omroep Reclame Nederland, the combined sales organisation of all Regional Public Broadcasters in The Netherlands). He studied Political Science at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Business Administration at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
